Cobra was released in 1986. An American action film, based on a novel called ‘Fair Game. Originally not well received, it turned out to become a financial success. Churning out $160 million at the box office on an estimated budget of $25 million. Sylvester Stallone wrote the script, and also starred in the leading role. After the initial rough cut got filmed, it was submitted for review. ‘Cobra’ received an X rating and some scenes had to be edited or deleted. Today it is considered a cult classic.

The Movie

A supremacist group called “The New World”, unleashes a killing spree on the streets of Los Angeles. Sylvester Stallone leads with the role of specialist L.A. cop, Marion “Cobra” Cobretti. The career model, Ingrid Knudson, played by Brigitte Nielsen, witnesses one of these murders. She becomes the main target of the cult, and Cobretti is assigned to protect her. Eventually, the two becomes romantically involved. After numerous attempts on their lives, the couple flees to the countryside to hide. However, the cult had installed an undercover agent in the police department, and their whereabouts became known. They were tracked down and the film culminates in a high-speed shooting chase. https://youtu.be/MpGSJeTVJE8. The weapon Stallone wielded on the back of the pick-up was a Jati-Matic submachine gun.
