Buzzing airport from Lego
Set number 6392
Released 1985
450 parts

The classic airport flagship set of the Legoland Town series from 1985. The set is one of the most common and recognizable among the city lines produced by Lego in the mid 1980’s. It boasted a generous amount of 8 mini figures. The helicopter pilot, the jet pilot, 5 crew members and a “businessman’, plus two aircraft and a bulky 4 road plates and a baseplate for the terminal building. Landing lights adorns the runway. The building has a control tower with a nice big radar dish, luggage belt, a waiting room, and yes, a windsock. There is also a little luggage tractor with it’s trailer. The playability of the set is one of the best. The jet opens up for seating of the minifigs with storage at the back for the two suitcases included in the set. On the down side, I would have enjoyed the inclusion of some plants. Maybe a small shrub or tree or two, or some flowers at the front of the building. 6392 is one of those last sets Lego produced with such a large compliment of baseplates and mini figures included. It was certainly a must have set back in the day.
