During the 1980s we had quite a few musclemen acting as heroes and villains alike. Here is four of the most famous action actors from the era.
Dolph Lundgren
Born Hans Lundgren on November 3rd, 1957. The Swedish muscleman’s career spans from actor, filmmaker, martial artist, and chemical engineer. Best known for appearances in 80s films like Rocky 4, A View to a Kill, and Red Scorpion.


Sylvester Stallone
Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone was born on July 6, 1946. Best known for his roles as muscleman Rocky and Rambo, during the 1980s. The first being his “big break”. On top of these two movie franchises, Stallone is also known for his success in Over the Top, Cobra, and Tango&Cash.


Arnold Schwarzenegger
Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger was born on July 30th, 1947. He had a colorful career as an actor, bodybuilder, businessman, and politician. Best known for his roles in Conan, The Terminator, Predator, and Raw deal to name a few. He also appeared in music videos for Bon Jovi, AC/DC, and Guns N’ Roses.


Jean-Claude Van Damme
Jean-Claude Camille Francois Van Varenberg was born on October 18th, 1960. The Belgian actor is best known for his role as ‘Frank Dux’ in the martial arts action film ‘Bloodsport’. Other films he appeared in during the 1980s are among Cyborg and Kickboxer.
