The show essentially revolved around four single women. Three of which are widowed and one is divorced. Golden Girls was popular for its witty never-ending comical drama between the four women.

The Show enjoyed spots in the top ten for the first six years. The seventh season however was not going well. Producers decided to end the popular show when Arthur decided to quit.
