Tron
Tron was released on 9 July 1982 and directed by Steven Lisberger.
The film grossed a stiff $50 million at the box office on a much smaller budget of $17 million.

Kevin Flynn (Bridges) is a software engineer previously working at ENCOM. He now runs a video arcade and attempts to hack into ENCOM’s mainframe

The Soundtrack
The soundtrack was composed by Wendy Carlos. It oozes with synthesizer music, as well as music by the London Philarmonic Orchestra.

Disney Channel made Tron as part of their first day of broadcasting on 18 April 1983
Conclusion
The film was very well received by critics. Roger Ebert from the Chicago Sun gave the film 4 out of 4 stars and wrote:
“a dazzling movie from Disney in which computers have been used to make themselves romantic and glamorous. Here’s a technological sound-and-light show that is sensational and brainy, stylish and fun”
The movie spawned numerous versions of video games and toys. A sequel was released in December 2010 called Tron: Legacy.
