MacGyver.

MacGyver first aired on 29 September 1985 on ABC. It ran for seven seasons consisting of 139 episodes. The production ended on May 21, 1992.

The Show

Richard Dean Anderson plays the role of Angus MacGyver, a secret agent who had the ability to solve any challenge. With anything lying around or at his disposal.

The ex-army bomb technician works for the fictional ‘Phoenix’ foundation, and operates as an agent for the “Department of External Services”. He did not handle guns, due to a shooting accident from his childhood, and preferred a non-violent way of solving problems.

The science guru had an ever-present opponent by the name of Murdoc. Played by Michael Des Barres. The villain liked his heavy weaponry and would take photos of his victims at the moment of their deaths.

Murdoc was also a master of disguise. The character was known for reappearing after being killed. In fact, through the show, it happened six times in total.

The show became more popular as time went by, and eventually a household name during the 1980s. Not only in the U.S. but worldwide.

With its trademark episode introduction theme, MacGyver will always be remembered as one of the greatest events on tv.
