Indiana Jones and the Ark

Raiders of the lost ark were released in 1981 as an action-adventure movie. Directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Lawrence Kasdan, based on the story written by George Lucas. The movie was later remarketed as “Indiana Jones and the raiders of the lost ark” It would be the first installment of a series of treasure hunting slash archeology adventure movies. The film grossed $390 million worldwide, and taking inflation into account, remains one of the highest-grossing films in history. It was nominated for 8 Academy awards in 1982 and won Best art direction, Film editing, sound, and visual effects.

The movie

Harrison Ford stars as an American archeologist, Indiana Jones. It is 1936 and Jones is on a race with a group of Nazis to stop them from opening the legendary ark and acquiring its mythical powers. The film takes Jones across continents and jungles, temples with booby traps, and scuffles with Nazis. Filming took place in locations in France, Tunisia, Hawaii, and California. It is regarded as one of the best films of all time.
