The movie

The lively, witty movie is set on the streets of Chicago. Broderick plays a young teen “rebel” who engineers a day off from school with his two friends. With a suspicious headmaster not falling for him being sick, he pursues the whereabouts of Ferris and his companions.

They set off to the city in the restored vintage Ferrari of his friend’s (Alan Ruck) father. As the trio goes about their day, visiting museums and sports events, the principal plays detective as he follows their trail, with comical disasters striking him as the day progresses.
