Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Also known as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles) was an animated tv show from the late 1980s.


The TV Show

The first season was a miniseries of 5 parts, with the show’s official release on 1 October 1988 as season 2.

The four Turtles

The story revolves around 4 pet turtles. After accidentally ending up in a sewer they got covered by a strange green glowing ooze. They ultimately turn into human/turtle hybrids. The 4 turtles are joined by Yoshi, a humanoid rat, born out of the same green ooze.

O’Neill and the four turtles

Yoshi sets out to teach the teenage turtles Ninjitsu, and he named them Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael. Yoshi’s favorite Italian Renaissance artists.
