Iron Eagle

Iron Eagle is an American action film released on 17 January 1986.

Directed by Sidney J. Furie and starring Louis Gosset Jr. and Jason Gedrick.
The Movie
The story’s plot is based on the US aerial attacks on Libya during the eighties. Doug Masters (Gedrick) sets out to rescue his father, also a pilot, who was shot down over a North African country. Taken prisoner and found guilty, it becomes a race against time to save his father’s life.

Conclusion
The film wasn’t entirely a commercial success, however, thanks to home video sales that generated $11 million, a sequel was planned.
Film reviewers like Kevin Thomas of the Los Angeles Times wrote:
“the film was “ludicrous”, “preposterous”, and “a total waste of time”, saying it “achieves a kind of perfection of awfulness that only earnest effort can produce”.
