The movie
The story is of a young man Jonathan Switcher (McCarthy) whose motorcycle breaks down and sees the perfect mannequin (Cattrall) in a shop window.
Events led up to the young man being employed at the store. The plot unfolds with the mannequin coming alive at night, only to him, and on the night shift. The story is based on the Pygmalion myth and transformed into a heartwarming romantic comedy.

Conclusion
Although an eighties cult flick, critics did not hold back, and the film was generally trashed with bad ratings. A Sequel was released in 1991.
